How it Happened
After a scoreless first half, Stavros Zarokostas broke the deadlock when he scored on a breakaway in the 69th minute to put Rhode Island up 1-0. The Rhody rookie took the ball down the right flank, worked his way to goal and beat Drexel's Tyler Afflerbach with a shot into to the upper 90.

The Dragons evened things up 11 minutes later however, as Eden Ben Hemo headed a service from Colin McGlynn into the back of the net to make it a 1-1 game.

In overtime, the best chance for either side came at the 102:25 mark when the Dragons were awarded a penalty kick. However, Nils Leifhelm made a diving stop on Robert Smith's attempt, robbing Drexel of the golden-goal opportunity. The Dragons nearly put the game away shortly after, but what appeared to be the game-winning goal was quickly negated due to an offsides call.
