Rhode Island (5-3) dropped their second meet in a row, this one to Massachusetts, 176-119.
Highlights From the Pool
- Senior Lauren Folkert won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:06.37 and the 200-yard individual medley with a 2:14.11. These were her team-leading eighth and ninth individual wins of the season.
- Folkert also took second in the 100-yard backstroke, swimming it in 59.08. She was the only Ram to swim it in under one minute in the race.
- Sophomore Nicole Petta was back to her winning ways when she took the 200-yard breaststroke with a 2:26.71.
- The Rams took second and third place in the opening event: the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Petta, Hannah Homans, Caitlin Guccione and Bridget Whalen took the number two spot with a time of 1:50.93, while the team of Folkert, Carly DeLiberty, Caitlyn Blake and Eliza Anderson took third with a 1:52.24.
- The Rams took silver in 10 of the events, including DeLiberty swimming the 200-yard freestyle in 1:57.91 and Guccione taking second in the 200-yard butterfly with a 2:11.29.
- The Rams capped the race off with a number one finish in the final race of the day, the 200-yard freestyle relay. The team of Anderson, DeLiberty, Blake and Whalen took first and 11 points along with it.
