How it Happened
Rhode Island (8-2-3, 3-0-1 Atlantic 10) struck first, getting on the board midway through the first half when Chae Brangman roofed in a loose ball off a corner kick by Dominik Richter.

Davidson (7-4-2, 2-2-1 Atlantic 10) responded with a pair of second-half goals however, both off set pieces just outside the box. The Wildcats first evened the score in the in the 59th minute when Jordan Hill headed in a free kick by Hunter Howard. Davidson then pulled ahead at the 74:01 mark on a John Dale goal off assists from both Hill and Cort Coxhead.

With time winding down in regulation, Rhode Island continued to apply the pressure in Davidson's defensive third. The Rams eventually equalized with just 25 seconds left on the clock when Richter buried a loose ball inside the box.

Rhody outshot Davidson 9-2 in the overtime periods, with the Rams' best chance coming in the 107th minute when Davidson's Sam Bissett stopped a point blank shot from Stavros Zarokostas. Five of Bissett's seven saves on the night came in extra time.

  • The 2-2 draw extends Rhode Island's unbeaten streak to 10 consecutive games. It marks the second time in the last four seasons that URI goes unbeaten for 10 or more games as the 2014 Rams were 9-0-2 over an 11-game stretch from Sept. 14 - Oct. 26.
  • Junior Chae Brangman netted his team-leading sixth goal of the season. He has now registered either a goal or an assist in each of Rhody's four A-10 games, and leads the team with 15 points on six goals and three assists.
  • Junior Dominik Richter turned in his second multiple-point game of the season, assisting on the Rams' first foal of the night and then netting the late equalizer. He how has 30 career points on 12 goals and six assists.
  • Senior Nils Leifhelm made four saves in goal for the Rams. His counterpart, Sam Bissett, made seven.
  • Rhode Island had the advantage in both shots (19-16) and corner kicks (7-3).
  • Davidson was whistled for 13 fouls, compared to Rhody's 10. However both yellows that were issued in the match went to the Rams.

Rhode Island returns to action Wednesday afternoon at Massachusetts. Tied atop the Atlantic 10 standings with matching 3-0-1 conference records, the Rams and Minutemen are the A-10's only teams to remain unbeaten in league play.
