Highlights from the Pool:
- The Rams were only able to place first in 4 of the 16 events.
- Rhode Island did manage to place second in 9 of the 16 events however.
- Senior Hannah Homans won the 200-yard backstroke with a 2:08.43 final time and narrowly placed second in the 100-yard backstroke.
- Sophomore Caitlin Caitlin Guccione earned first place in the 100-yard butterfly posting a final time of 57.98 and tying for first in the 200-yard butterfly with a 2:07.00 final time.
- The fourth first place win for Rhode Island came from sophomore Katy Evans, who scored a 241.05 in the 1-meter dive, and placed second in the 3-meter dive.
- A few second place finishes from Rhode Island came by way of sophomore Mackenna Dunn in the 200-yard freestyle, junior Nicole Petta in the 100-yard breaststroke, and junior Grace Kneller in the 100-yard freestyle.
- Freshman Kelly Blake's 25.11 final time placed her second in the 50-yard freestyle.
- Homans, Petta, Guccione, and junior Eliza Anderson finished second in the 200-yard medley relay.
- Petta, Anderson, sophomore Maddie Horner, and Kneller placed second in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
What's Next
Rhode Island returns to the Tootell Aquatic Center Friday, November 17th for the Harold Anderson Invitational with Assumption, Bryant, Holy Cross, Maine, and Providence. The meet is set to begin at 5:00 p.m.
