Rams Sit In Ninth After Day One of Atlantic 10 Championship

Day One Results

The Rhode Island women's swimming & diving team completed day one of the 25th Atlantic 10 Women's Swimming & Diving Championship and currently sit in ninth place.

The Rams divers competed in 1-meter diving, while the swimmers took part in the 200-yard medley relay and 800-yard freestyle relay. 

Highlights From the Pool

  • The Rams team of Hannah Homans, Nicole Petta, Bridget Whalen and Eliza Anderson came in seventh in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:43.43.
  • Freshman Katy Evans took 12th and senior Maria Smirnov 15th in 1-meter diving. Evans' score was 197.05, while Smirnov's was  174.90.
  • In the 800-yard freestyle relay, Lauren Folkert, Carly DeLiberty, Sabrina Anderson and Emma Grace Pecha took 10th with a time of 7:33.01.

Up Next
Rhody will be back at it tomorrow, Feb. 16, as they take part in the 500-yard freestyle, the 200-yard individual medley, the 50-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle relay. Prelims are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and the finals will take place beginning at 6:30 p.m.
