200 Free Relay, Evans Score Points for Rams on Day Two of A-10s

GENEVA, Ohio
– Rhode Island is in 11th place after Day Two of the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championship.

After scoring 36 points on the first day of competition, Rhode Island added 15 points Thursday. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of freshman Kelly Blake, sophomore Mackenna Dunn, junior Grace Kneller and junior Eliza Anderson placed 10th, good for 14 team points. With a time of 1:35.07, the Rams finished nearly 1.5 seconds ahead of La Salle. The Rams were just .48 seconds behind the ninth-place team from Davidson. Fordham won the event with a time of 1:33.67.

Rhode Island got its first individual point from sophomore Katy Evans in the 1-meter dive. Evans placed 16th overall with a score of 217.95 in the consolation finals to give the Rams their first point of the day Thursday.

Sophomore Mackenna Dunn just missed advancing through the prelims in the 200 IM. She placed 17th with a time of 2:07.72, missing the top 16 by less than one second.
