Evans Places Third in 1-Meter Dive at Comanzo Invitational

. - Senior Katy Evans placed third in the 1-Meter Dive at the 11th annual Dick Comanzo Diving Invitational Sunday.

It was Rhode Island's top finish at the event, which was hosted by Ithaca. The event also featured divers from Cortland, RIT, Oswego, Alfred State and Oneonta.

Evans scored a 441.10 in the 1-meter event. Ithaca's Ava Lowell won the event with a score of 448.05, followed by her teammate, Eliana Wallock, who just edged Evans for second place by .3 points.

Rhode Island got solid performances in the event from junior Cameron Murray and senior Alyssa Campone. Murray placed sixth out of 28 divers with her score of 425.70, while Campone was one spot behind her with a score of 419.05.

Campone also gave Rhode Island a fifth-place finish in the 3-Meter Dive. The top three in the event all came from Ithaca, as Karalyn Pawcio (498.50), Lowell (481.90) and Wallock (474.35) were well ahead of the field. Cortland's Taylor Williams (460.75) and Campone (452.95) rounded out the top five.

Freshmen Brianna Tocco and Isabella Antonini both finished in the top 10 of the 3-meter event. Tocco was eighth with a score of 419.20, and Antonini was 10th (409.65).
