800-Yard Free Relay Team Places 10th on First Day of A-10 Championship

GENEVA, Ohio
- Rhode Island's 800-yard freestyle relay team offered URI its best finish on Day One of the Atlantic 10 Swimming & Diving Championship, placing 10th overall.

Competing at SPIRE Institute, the Rams got 14 points in the 800-yard freestyle relay. The team of senior Mackenna Dunn, freshman Aimee Garcia, junior Cara Megill and sophomore Zoe Sheridan placed 10th with a time of 7:34.62.

Rhode Island earned 12 points in the 200-yard medley relay as the team of freshman Julia Renna, junior Brooke Kelley, senior Caitlin Guccione and freshman Camryn Kreuscher placed 11th in a time of 1:45.07.

Senior Katy Evans earned the first individual point of the meet for Rhode Island. She placed 16th in the 1-meter dive for her team point.

Thursday's Events
Day Two of the conference championship will feature the 500-yard freestyle, 200 individual medley, 50-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle relay.
