CAA Football Releases 2021 Fall Schedule

KINGSTON, R.I. – Rhode Island football fans can start planning for the Fall 2021 season, as CAA Football announced the league's full slate Wednesday morning.

After an abbreviated spring season that kicks off in a couple weeks, CAA Football returns to a full season next September. Rhode Island will plan an 11-game slate that includes eight conference games and three non-league contests that are all against New England opponents.

The Rams open the 2021 season against in-state rival Bryant on Sept. 4 before opening conference play at Albany on Sept. 11. URI stays on the road for the Governor's Cup game at Brown on Sept. 18, leading into the bye week.

October features five straight CAA Football games, three of which will be at Meade Stadium. Rhody hosts Stony Brook (Oct. 2) and Delaware (Oct. 9), then travels to Towson (Oct. 16) and Villanova (Oct. 23). The month closes out with a home game against Maine (Oct. 30).

November starts with a game at FBS Massachusetts on Nov. 6. The Rams and Minutemen have played 88 previous times, but not since 2011. Before UMass began its transition to the FBS level, Rhode Island had played the Minutemen at least once every season from 1946 through 2011.

The regular season closes with a home game against New Hampshire (Nov. 13) followed by a road trip to Elon (Nov. 20).
