KINGSTON, R.I. – The Rhode Island baseball program has entered a pause as a result of COVID-19 protocols. As a result, the team's game Wednesday against Holy Cross and its weekend series against Fordham have been called off.
No players on the team have tested positive at this time. However, there are multiple individuals in quarantine due to close contact situations. Due to the timing of the cases, Rhode Island will not have enough players medically cleared in order to compete in games this week
No decision on possible make up dates has been determined at this time. Contact tracing will be completed before any decisions on games beyond this weekend are made.
