Head Coach Gregg Burke Said...
  • With the 14-under we shot at Bethpage to set the all-time tournament record, this was one of the best tournaments URI has had in the last 16-18 years.
  • Today's round is the best single round of any team I have ever had.
  • Jordan finishing fifth in this field is phenomenal. It was a pleasure to see all his hard work come together.  This is the kid who last winter asked me to get to campus at 5:30 am a couple times a week so he could hit indoors before class or before workouts.
  • We had been trying to get in this tournament for a number of years. We had to give up playing at Bethpage, which we won twice and loved, but there is no comparison in the field so we took the step up.
  • This is a deep team.  We will look at the fifth spot but Nate made a strong case to stay in the lineup.
  • Some teams we beat we expected to and others we just were tougher than.  It was a great field of really good golfers.
