RHODE ISLAND VS. GEORGE WASHINGTON - SERIES NOTES

  • Saturday's game will be the 64th meeting between Rhode Island and George Washington.
  • The Colonials lead the all-time series, 33-30.
  • Rhode Island is 12-18 all time at George Washington.
  • GW has won the last two meetings in the series, including a 63-61 victory at Rhode Island on Jan. 22.
  • In the most recent game between the schools, George Washington rallied from a 15-point deficit to knock off the Rams. URI led 47-38 before a 10-0 run gave the Colonials their first lead midway through the second half.
  • There were seven lead changes and six ties over the final 10 minutes, with neither side leading by more than two points.
  • A James Bishop jumper with 55 seconds remaining provided the winning points in that contest.
  • Bishop and Hunter Dean each scored 15 point to lead GW in the first meeting, while Jeremy Sheppard led the Rams with 12 points. Ishmael Leggett and Makhel Mitchell added 11 points each.

  • It was his third time in the last four games with at least 11 rebounds.
  • Mitchell has grabbed 10 or more rebounds in six of his last eight contests, raising his season average to 7.4 per game.
  • He ranks seventh in the Atlantic 10 in the category.
  • Mitchell also ranks third on the team with 9.7 points per game and leads the Rams with six double-doubles.
  • Mitchell and his twin brother Makhel Mitchell are tied for the team lead with 14 games with 10 or more points.
