Redshirt senior Brandon Gillis is tied for first after one round with a 3-under 69.
Sophomore Jack Tegan is tied for fourth, even at 72.
Redshirt senior Jordan Brajcich is 1-over, which ties him for seventh overall.
Junior Bryson Richards carded an uncharacteristic 77 (+5) in the opening round to tie for 34th place.
Senior Austin Fox is tied for 46th with a 7-over 79.

We had three players among the top seven, which would normally mean a huge lead but our other two guys struggled.
Being in first genuinely means very little at this point. The singular thought we had coming in was that the competition didn't matter; our only opponent was versus the best we could play.
Brandon was terrific and Jack was a very pleasant bonus but not a surprise. He is still learning to control his emotions and his pace of play out there. As he gets a better handle on both of those things, he can win a tournament.
Jordy had a great flagstick today and easily could have shaved three or four shots off his score.
Bryson just struggled. It is golf and not just a physical game. He is as tough a competitor as we have had here, so look for a great score tomorrow.
My sense is that shooting five or six under tomorrow puts a score up that will be hard to beat.
