Tournament Info
  • First Round: Saturday, March 26
  • Second Round: Sunday, March 27
  • Rum Pointe Golf Course – Berlin, MD
  • Par 72 (7,001 yards)
  • The Field: 22 teams, 120 golfers
Team Results
  • Rhode Island (-1) maintained its grasp on first place and finished the tournament with a convincing 14-stroke lead over second-place Harvard (+13).
  • Rider (+17), Fairfield  (+17) and Bucknell (+17) rounded out the top-5.
  • The team victory is Rhody's second in as many competitions as the Rams also finished atop the leaderboard at last weekend's Carpetbagger Classic.
Individual Results
  • Redshirt senior Jordan Brajcich was co-champion, along with Cornell's Samuel King. Brajcich was one of just five golfers to go under par in the final round, and the only competitor among the field of 120 to turn in red scores on both Saturday and Sunday. Overall, he finished the tournament 4-under (69-71=140).
  • Junior Bryson Richards finished one stroke behind Brajcich to tie for third place. He finished the 36-hole event 3-under at 141 (69-72).
  • Senior Austin Fox turned in his second consecutive top-15 finish, tying for 14th overall at 3-over (73-74=147). Entering last weekend's tournament – where he tied for seventh place – Fox had yet to record a top-15 finish in 16 career events.
  • Redshirt senior Brandon Gillis carded a 73 on Sunday, jumping 10 spots into a tie for 17th at +4 (75-73=148).
  • Sophomore Jack Tegan's final-round 77 dropped him into a tie for 38th place at 7-over (74-77=151).
Head Coach Gregg Burke Said...
  • I said yesterday that the toughest team would win and we proved that. After 12 holes we were up by just three shots but over the next four holes our guys made two eagles and six birdies. It was remarkable to be a part of.
  • Obviously, seeing Jordan win was special to me. He birdied 17 and 18 and then holed out from the trap on the playoff hole. I picture him getting into the hitting barn at 5:30 a.m. and I am thrilled to see his hard work pay off.
  • Austin Fox has been terrific. He was four under on the back today and he really propelled us down the stretch. He has a clear and solid grip on the 4th spot for sure.
  • We now have three players in the lineup who have won a college tournament. That says a lot about our program.
