SMITHFIELD, R.I. — Rhode Island finished with 196 team points after two days of competition at the Bryant Black & Gold Invitational. Central Connecticut finished second with 122 points. It was the outdoor season-opener for Rhode Island.

Highlights from Scoring Competition

• Garrett Robinson won the long jump with a leap of 6.85 meters. Jack Reichenbach placed third (6.49m), and Wyatt Lamell was fifth (6.31m).
• Reichenbach won the high jump after clearing 2.00 meters. Ryan Tona finished fourth (1.90m) and John Santos was seventh (1.85m) for points for the Rams.
• Neil Waldhausen won the pole vault with his 4.45 meter mark. Isaiah Powers was second (4.45m).
• In the 100 meters, Liam Creeley placed third, (10.80s) while Nathanial Barjolo was fourth (10.81s), and Jarrett Young was sixth (10.97s).
• Young placed second in the 200 meters in 21.96v seconds. Liam Creeley was fourth (22.29s), Tristen Howard was sixth (22.56s), Abraham Tambah was seventh (22.64s) and Barjolo finished eighth (22.74s).
• Lamell was the top finisher for the Rams in the 400 meters, placing sixth in 50.74 seconds. Ryan Tona also earned points for Rhody, finishing seventh in 51.17 seconds.
• Orion Joyner placed second in the triple jump (13.87m).
• Nick Morse finished third in the discus after throwing 46.33 meters.
• Lucas Frost placed second in the javelin (67.64m), while Seth Cordeiro was fourth (59.97m) and Lucas Stage was eighth (52.72m).
