How it Happened
Rhode Island scored multiple times in each of the first five innings, pounding Saint Louis 19-13 for its fourth straight win Saturday afternoon.
After scoring twice in each of the first two innings, the Rams (19-30, 13-7 Atlantic 10) exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the third.
Addison Kopack's three-run home run – one of two homers on the day for him – and a two-run double by
Joe Fortin provided the big blows in the inning.
URI continued to pour it on in the fourth inning, scoring five more times to open up an 18-3 lead. Kopack had a solo shot,
Anthony DePino delivered an RBI triple and Fortin added a two-run blast in the rally.
The runs came in handy as Saint Louis (25-21, 11-8 A-10) put together a seven-run eighth inning. Despite the big inning, the Billikens were still quite a ways off from truly threatening the lead.
