MILFORD, Conn. – Rhode Island had the second lowest team score for the second round in a row at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic, as Bryson Richards and Geronimo Narizzano ended the day tied for third place overall.

Richards and Narizzano both are three strokes behind Sacred Heart's Marcus Lim heading into Tuesday's final found. Narizzano fired a 2-under 70 on Monday, the second-lowest individual round of the day. He fired a birdie on the first hole and finished the day with five birdies.

Richards was right behind with a 1-under 71, helping the Rams shoot a 1-over 289 as a team. Richards was i-under on the front nine and played even par on the second half of the course.

"We got some good play out of Bryson and Geronimo for sure  and I believe either one can win the golf tournament but they're going to have to make four or five birdies and keep the card clean," Rhode Island head coach Gregg Burke said.

Tony Liu provided a solid plus-2 74 and is tied for seventh in the 54-player field. Fellow freshman Josiah Tong shaved five strokes off his first round to shoot a 2-over 74, placing him in a tie for 18th heading into the final day.

"Tony gave us a great score considering he wasn't close to having his best stuff. He is just tough and a competitor," Burke said. "The player of the day may have been Josiah. He just made really good decisions and seems to be meshing in more, which has been delightful for all of us. As he continues to mature and let more of himself out there, watch out."

Host Sacred Heart's A team leads the field by 15 strokes. The Pioneers were 6-under par as a team Monday. Rhode Island was plus one as a team, putting the Rams four strokes ahead of Fairfield for second place. The rest of the field is at least 11 strokes behind the top three heading into the final round.
