RHODE ISLAND VS. FORDHAM - SERIES NOTES
  • Saturday is the 32nd meeting all time between Rhode Island and Fordham, dating back to 1982.
  • Rhody leads the series, 17-9-5-4.
  • URI is 3-0-3 over its last six meetings with Fordham, including a 2-2 tie last season.
  • Fordham scored twice in the opening five minutes last season, as Florian Deletioglu struck first, hammering a shot inside the right post at the 3:47 mark. Nathan Simes doubled the lead just 1:17 later on a bicycle kick goal.

RAMS GET ON THE BOARD   

  • Rhode Island scored a pair of goals at George Mason Wednesday night, snapping a four-match scoreless streak.
  • A penalty kick by Brandon Bermingham in in the 30th minute ended a scoreless stretch of more than 470 minutes, dating back to a 1-0 victory over Holy Cross on Sept. 12.
  • Bermingham's goal was the second penalty kick converted by Rhode Island this season.
  • The first was by Michael Hofstetter against Stonehill.
  • URI added a second goal against George Mason when Mathias Taylor scored off an assist from Íñigo Etxegarai.
  • Taylor is the first Ram with more than one goal this season, as the team's first six goals came from six different players.
  • For Etxegarai, it was his second assist of the season, which leads the team.
  • The George Mason contest also marked the second time this season Rhody has scored more than one goal in a game. The Rams had three goals against Stonehill on Aug. 27.
