KINGSTON, R.I. —  Rhode Island's tradition of quality depth held true to form, as the Rams won their third straight Atlantic 10 Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship Sunday. It is the 13th overall indoor title for the program.
Rhode Island won four of the 20 total events, but it got multiple point scorers in several events, steadily increasing its team total throughout the day.. Â
URI entered the second day of the conference meet in second place, just four points behind George Mason. However, the Rams scored 133 team points on Day Two to win the team title running away from the field. URI's point total from the second day alone would have been enough to win the title.
Rhode Island finished with 175 points, well ahead of second-place George Mason (132.5). Davidson (101), VCU (99.5), and Saint Louis (68.5) rounded out the top five.
