KINGSTON, R.I. — Rhode Island women's track and field grad student Trinity Smith was named the Atlantic 10 Track Performer of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
At the UConn Northeast Challenge this past weekend, Smith competed in both the 100m hurdles and the 400 meter hurdles. She placed second in the 100 meter hurdles with a school record and conference-leading finish of 13.52 seconds. The time broke her own record that she set last season (13.61s). She finished fourth in the 400 meter hurdles with a season-best time of 1:02.36.
Smith and the Rams are back in action this Saturday at the Holy Cross Invitational.
