KINGSTON, R.I. – For the second consecutive season, Rhode Island will open its schedule against Siena. The Rams and Saints will compete head-to-head at the Tootell Aquatic Center Saturday, Oct. 12 at noon.
While the meet is the season opener for Rhode Island, Siena is coming off a 159-139 loss to Iona on Oct. 4.
Series History - Rhode Island vs. Siena
- Rhode Island and Siena have met twice previously, with the Rams winning both meets.
- This is the third straight season the teams are competing.
- Last year, Rhode Island won 167.5-132.5.
- Current seniors Maddie Tetreault and Hannah Benavides each won two individual events to lead the team to the victory.
- Tetreault won both the 1000-yard freestyle and the 200 backstroke, while Benavides won the 100 and 200 breaststroke races.
- Siena has a pair of freshmen divers who shined in the team's first meet of the season. Sydney Murray and Claire Donlon finished first and second in both the 1- and 3-meter diving events against Iona. Murray won the 1-meter dive, while Donlon took the 3-meter event.

- Saturday is the team's Pink Out meet to benefit breast cancer awareness.
- Fans should expect heavy traffic getting to campus. In addition to the swim meet at noon, URI is hosting the Governor's Cup football game against Brown at 1 p.m.
