Rams Win Three Events on Third Day of Anderson

Day 3 Results

KINGSTON, R.I. –
Rhode Island had three individual winners on the third day of the Harold Anderson Invitational, which continued to be a two-team battle between the Rams and Vermont Saturday.

Junior Lily Hsu got Rhode Island off to a strong start by winning the 3-meter dive. Her score of 288.20 led a URI performance that included four of the top eight finishes overall. Sophomore Olivia Winslow was second with a score of 269.75, while Anna Petke took fourth place with her score of 260.95. Freshman Amelia Kloss was eighth with a score of 223.15. The depth allowed Rhody to score 52 team points.

Sophomore Julianna Tyler just missed setting a meet record in the 400 Individual Medley. She finished several seconds ahead of the field with her time of 4:24.48. Her time was just .22 seconds off the meet record. Rhody got 50 team points in the event, as freshman Lily Gugino was third and senior Maddie Tetreault placed fifth. Junior Sarah Koenig, senior Emma Lee and freshman Emma Raser placed sixth, eighth and ninth, respectively, as URI flexed its depth again.

Junior Rylee Kelly was victorious in an exciting 200 Freestyle race. Kelly touched the wall in a time of 1:51.54, edging Vermont's Jackie House by .22 seconds.

Heading into the final day of the invitational, Vermont leads the team standings with 609 points. Rhode Island is second with 580 points. Holy Cross (325), Maine (305) and Wagner (298) round out the top five.
