KINGSTON, R.I. - Members of the Rhode Island women's track & field team kicked off the 2024-25 slate at the 29th annual URI Heptathlon on Friday at Mackal Field House.
Freshman
Lily MacDonald highlighted the Rams' performance with a second-place finish, collecting 3,305 points in her collegiate debut. Brown's Delaney Seligmann won the meet with 3,629 points while Sacred Heart's Magdalena Brogioli rounded out the top three with a score of 3,171.
MacDonald picked up a trio of third-place finishes throughout the day, doing so in the 60m hurdles, the high jump and the long jump.Â
Rookie
Kathryn Cahill finished just outside the top 10, scoring 2,752 points for 11th overall. She was followed closely by sophomore
Lilly Pittakas (12th; 2,699).
Freshmen
Allison Vigue (2,617) and
Emma Halsey (2,494) also made their Rhody debuts.
Up Next
Rhode Island will be represented at a slew of meets across New England on Saturday, Dec. 7. The team will be sending student-athletes to compete at Brown's Alden Invitational, Boston University's Season-Opener Meet and the New Balance Early Bird Invite.
