KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island Women's Track & Field sent members of its team to the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University, on Friday afternoon.
Ten Rams were in action, running in the 3000m, the 800m, the 400m, the Mile and the 4x400 Relay.
Molly Sabia and
Sofia Piccone stood out, recording personal bests in the 3000m and the Mile, respectively.
Highlights
- Sabia ran the unseeded section of the 3000m in 10:07.44, finishing 55th overall.
- With a time of 5:05.92, Piccone landed 205th in a highly-competitive Mile race.
- Lily Saul paced the Rams in the 800, crossing the line in 2:09.98 to place 57th.
- Sydney Federico was just off a season-best pace in the 400, coming in at 58.07 (78th). Amyah Santana did run a season-best in the event (59.88, 115th).
- The team of Federico, Saul, Hanna O'Connor and Santana placed 26th in the 4x400 Relay with a season-best mark of 3:58.03.
- The 'B' entry of Elise LePage, Zoe Catrambone, Madeline Till and Erin Hurley finished 35th (4:06.48).

The team will be in action at the URI Coaches Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 10. Prior to the start of the meet, the team will honor members of its senior class at 10:15 a.m. in Mackal Fieldhouse.
