Day Two Results
ORLANDO, Fla. – Graduate student
Bryson Richards made one of the biggest jumps of the day on the individual leaderboard, but Rhode Island remained in ninth place after Round Two of the 2024 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship.
Richards shot even par on the day. With only five players in the field shooting under par, Richards moved up 21 spots on the individual leaderboard. He and Rhody freshman
Josiah Tong are tied for 31st place at 8-over par heading into the final round.
With the Rams beginning play on the back nine, Richards began the day with four birdies on his first six holes. However, he was plus four over his final 12 holes.
As a team, Rhode Island had a fantastic start. The Rams were a combined six-under par after playing holes 10-15. However, a combined plus-nine over holes 16-18 slowed the early success. URI was unable to regain its momentum.
In addition to Richards (even, tied for 31st) and Tong (+4, tied for 31st), the Rams also got scoring efforts from
Seb Carlsson (+4, tied for 46th) and
Aidan O'Donovan (+8, tied for 46th) Saturday.
VCU's Grayson Wood (6-under) leads the field. With four VCU players among the top five individual scores, the Virginia-based Rams have a comfortable 20-stroke lead over the rest of the field with one round to go. VCU is 14-under par, well ahead of second-place Davidson, which is six-over par. Â
