Final Results

ORLANDO, Fla. – Bryson Richards capped off a brilliant career at Rhode Island by tying for 21st at the 2024 Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship Sunday.

While not the end result he was looking for, Richards made another significant move on the final day of the championship, jumping 10 spots after shooting even par for the second consecutive round. Richards – who set a URI record with six individual titles in his career – found himself in a tie for 52nd place after the opening round, but moved up to 31st after Round Two and then another 10 spots Sunday.

Freshman Josiah Tong finished his first season with a 1-over 73 in the final round. He finished the championship in a tie for 26th overall. Fellow freshman Seb Carlsson finished the tournament  in 48th place, while sophomore Aidan O'Donovan and senior Geronimo Narizzano finished in a tie for 51st together.

As a team, the Rams placed 10th out of 12 teams.

VCU – which had Ugo Malcor and Grayson Wood tie atop the individual leaderboard at 9-under par, ran away with the team title. The Virginia-based Rams beat the rest of the field by at least 25 strokes with a combined 20-under par. George Washington (5-over par) finished second and Davidson (9-over par) was third.

"This was a week to honor Bryson for his incredible contribution to URI Athletics. It was also a time to say goodbye to a tremendous young man I will never forget in Geronimo Narizzano.
 
"Josiah proved this week that he is ready to take the mantle moving forward. Tony Liu proved most of the year that he will be a four-year starter.  After those two, we will look at the other returnees and what they showed us and three or maybe four incoming players who all could be starters for us.  We will surely be a very, very young team next year."
