KINGSTON, R.I. – The highly-anticipated 2024 football season gets underway when the Rams open training camp on Wednesday, July 31.

Head coach Jim Fleming's squad will conduct 18 practices and two scrimmages over the course of four weeks. Each of the practices will run from 9:15 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. (days/dates are listed below). The two live-action intrasquad scrimmages are slated for Sunday, Aug. 11 and Saturday, Aug. 17. Camp will conclude with a mock game day on Saturday, Aug. 24. 

Rhode Island is coming off a solid 2023 season in which the Rams went 6-5 with a 4-4 mark in CAA Football action. It marked the team's fourth-straight year with a record of .500 or better, signifying both significant momentum and a positive trajectory for the program. URI also finished with a dominant 4-1 record within the friendly confines of Meade Stadium. 

The Rams recently placed four players onto the Preseason All-CAA Football Teams in defensive lineman Westley Neal, Jr., linebacker A.J. Pena, punt returner Gabe Sloat and wide receiver Marquis Buchanan (honorable mention). Pena was also named a Preseason Second Team All-American by FCS Football Central, while transfer running back Malik Grant was named to the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000 List to further Rhody's preseason accolades.
