Sophomore
Anna Petke set the program record in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events for Rhode Island, winning both events despite the team falling 169-127 at Vermont Saturday.
Petke won the 3-meter dive with a score of 319.5, beating the rest of the field by more than 38 points. Her score of 319.5 smashed the previous URI record of 300.55 set by
Lily Hsu during the 2022-23 season. Petke's previous best in the 3-meter was a 265.25 in her first career meet at the Harold Anderson Invitational her freshman year.
Later in the meet, Petke posted a score of 303.68 in the 1-meter dive to lead a 1-2-3 sweep by Rhode Island.
Olivia Winslow was second with her score of 295.50, followed by Hsu with a score of 290.10.
Petke's mark of 303.68 broke the previous Rhode Island record of 302.55 set by
Marta Baumann during the 2022-23 season. Petke's previous career high in the 1-meter was a 278.95 on Dec. 7 of this season against Massachusetts and La Salle.
Standouts from the Pool
- Senior Maddie Tetreault won the 200-yard backstroke for Rhode Island's lone individual swimming win of the meet. She posted a time of 2:04.66 to hold off Vermont's Jocelyn LeGere (2:06.82).
- Tetreault added a second-place finish in the 1000-yard Freestyle with her time of 10:29.91.
- Senior Hannah Benavides took second place in both the 100-yard and 200-yard Breaststroke  races. She also was part of the 400-yard Medley Relay team – along with senior Jackie Triglia, junior Ella Hacker and freshman Ella Raser – that placed second
- Sophomore Julianna Tyler and junior Ella Hacker placed second and third, respectively, in the 200-yard Butterfly.
- Hacker added a second-place finish in the 100-yard Butterfly, while Tyler was second in the 200-yard Individual Medley.
