KINGSTON, R.I. – Rhode Island is back at home Saturday when it hosts Connecticut in a head-to-head meet. The meet begins at 12 p.m.
It is the first of two meets in a span of five days for the Rams. On Wednesday, Nov. 5, URI's swimmers compete at Providence, while the diving events will be held in the Tootell Aquatic Center.
Series History - Rhode Island vs. Connecticut
- Rhode Island and Connecticut are meeting for the 18th time overall and the fifth year in a row.
- UConn leads the series, 16-1.
- Rhody's lone victory in the series came in 1994.
- While the Huskies won last season, 154-133.
- It was the closest score in the series since 1979.
- URI's Julianna Tyler won both the 200-yard Butterfly and 400-yard Individual Medley when the team's met last year.
A Look at the Opponent
- Connecticut is looking for its first win of the season.
- Most recently the Huskies fell to Villanova, 186-113.
- Jessica Sheng won the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle for UConn.
- She also placed second in the 100-yard backstroke.
- Sydney Perkins also won a pair of events, the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events.
