KINGSTON, R.I. – Rhode Island opens its 2025-26 season at Siena in a tri-meet that also includes Stonehill Saturday afternoon.
This is the third straight season Rhode Island and Siena will meet in URI's season opener, and the fourth straight year the teams are competing against each other. Rhody will be competing against Stonehill for the first time.
Series History - Rhode Island vs. Siena
- Rhode Island and Siena have met three times previously, with the Rams emerging victoriously in all three meets.
- Last year, Rhode Island won 181-114.
- Julianna Tyler had three victories when the teams met last season. She was part of the 200-yard medley relay that won the first event of the day, then went on to win the 200- and 100-yard butterfly races.
- Rylee Kelly won a pair of events last year, taking both the 200 and 500 freestyle races.
- Lauren Biglow won the 200-yard backstroke in her collegiate debut, leading a 1-2-3 sweep in the event for URI.
- While the meet is Rhode Island's season opener, Siena lost to Iona in its season opener on Oct. 4.
Series History - Rhode Island vs. Stonehill
- Rhode Island and Stonehill will meet for the first time.
- Stonehill placed third in a tri-meet with Binghamton and Le Moyne on Sept. 28.
- Kristy Barry won two events for the Skyhawks, including setting a new school record in the 100 IM with a time of 1:00.85. She also posted a new personal-best time in the 100 freestyle (53.95) to pick up her second win of the day.
