RHODE ISLAND VS. MAINE - SERIES NOTES
- Rhode Island and Maine will meet for the 102nd time on Saturday afternoon.
- Rhode Island's record in the all-time series 37-62-3. The Rams have won the previous three meeting against their regional foe.Â
- The Rams last four-game winning streak against Maine was from 1981 to 1985
- The first meeting between the programs was in 1911. The visiting Rams defeated the Black Bears 3-0.
- The most recent meeting between the Rams and Black Bears was last year in Kingston on Oct. 26, 2024. Rhode Island won the game 24-14. Â
- Last year's meeting featured three Rhode Island rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Devin Farrell had two rushing touchdowns and running back Malik Grant added another. Grant finished the game with 87 rushing yards.Â
- Rhody's last trip to Orono was on Sept. 15, 2023. The Rams won that game 34-17 securing the program's first win at Maine since 1998.
- Rams quarterback Kasim Hill threw for 234 yards and two touchdowns. Both of Hill's touchdowns with caught by receiver Kahtero Summers. Summers had 130 yards on six catches.Â
- Rhode Island running back Ja'Den McKenzie added 121 rushing yards and a touchdown.
- Current Monmouth quarterback Derek Robertson was the quarterback for Maine in 2023. He passed for 187 yards in Maine's home loss to Rhode Island.
RHODE ISLAND CONTROLS ITS OWN DESTINY TO CAA TITLE
- After last week's win at Elon and Monmouth's loss against New Hampshire, Rhode Island is now 6-0 in CAA Football play.
- Villanova, Monmouth, and Maine are the remaining teams whom have one CAA Football loss.Â
- With wins this week over Maine and next week against Hampton, Rhode Island would finish the 2025 season 8-0 against CAA competition securing the championship and the league's automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs.
KWARTENG ERUPTS FOR CAREER DAY AT ELON
- Wide receiver Aboraa Kwarteng had four catches for 124 yards and a touchdown in last week's win at Elon.Â
- His 124 yards is a new career high and his four receptions tied his career high.
- Kwarteng had a 70-yard touchdown catch in the Rhode Island win. It was Rhode Island's first 70-yard catch since Sept. 8, 2023.Â
- Kwarteng has two 100-yard games this season. The first was on Sept. 6 at Stony Brook.Â
- The Sacred Heart transfer had four catches for 114 yards against the Seawolves.Â
- Kwarteng appeared in two games last season for Rhode Island as a reserve.
- This year, he has carved out a role as the No. 3 receiver for the Rams.Â
- He has 21 catches for 410 yards and two touchdowns in 2025.
- From 2022-2023 he 53 catches, 589 yards, and a touchdown for Sacred Heart.
