Ryan Tona was named the men's field performer while
Josia Katroli earned the rookie of the week.
At the URI Heptathlon, Tona placed first with a program-record score of 5662 points. He finished fourth in the 60m (7.19s), first in the long jump (7.39m), second in the shot put (13.11m), first in the high jump (2.03m), first in the 60m hurdles (8.26s), first in the pole vault (4.70m), and third in the 1000m (2:56.68). His score in the heptathlon ranks third nationally.Â
Katroli was named Rookie of the Week after his collegiate debut. At the Rhody Opener, he finished second in the high jump with a clearance of 2.10 meters.Â
