KINGSTON, R.I. -- The USTFCCCA announced its first indoor Track & Field Rating Index (TFRI) of 2026 and Rhode Island men's track and field was ranked first in the Northeast region. The TFRI is a complex mathematical system used to rank collegiate track and field teams.

The Rams lead the Northeast region with a total score of 283.32, with 266.21 individual points. Rhody ranks above Cornell (247.04), Army (246.37), UConn (213.89), and Harvard (161.84). For the full rankings at the first checkpoint of the indoor season,

Rhode Island has three individuals ranked first in the Northeast in their respective events:
Ryan Tona (Heptathlon),
Matt Santy (High Jump) and
Joachim Ennoo (Long Jump, Triple Jump).
