KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island will begin Atlantic 10 play with a home game against Loyola Chicago, the conference announced Thursday afternoon.

Including the league opener against the Ramblers (fourth place in 2025-26), URI will host five of the top six teams from last season as part of its 18-game schedule.

Defending champion VCU comes to the Ryan Center on Jan. 14 for a nationally-televised game on CBS Sports Network. Rhody will visit George Mason - last season's second-place finisher - for another nationally-televised game on Jan. 3 (USA Network) before hosting the Patriots on Jan. 24.

Saint Louis and Saint Joseph's - the fifth- and sixth- place teams a year ago - visit the Ryan Center on Feb. 17 and Feb. 28, respectively.

Of Rhode Island's nine road conference games, three will be nationally televised. In addition to the aforementioned George Mason contest, Jan. 10 at Davidson and Feb. 1 at Duquesne will air on USA Network.

The Atlantic 10 - which is celebrating its 50th anniversary throughout the 2025-26 season - will hold its men's basketball championship from March 11-15 at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa.
