KINGSTON, R.I. – Rhode Island opens its 2026-27 season Saturday afternoon when the Rams welcome Siena and Stonehill to a tri-meet at the Tootell Aquatic Center.
This is the second straight season that Rhode Island is facing Siena and Stonehill in the opener. Rhody has met Siena in four straight seasons in their opening meet, and five straight seasons in general. This will be the second meeting all time against Stonehill.

- Rhode Island swept the tri-meet against Siena & Stonehill, winning 11 of 16 events in Loudonville, N.Y.
- Rhody took three of the top four spots in seven of the events.
- Molly Beckwith and Julianna Tyler both won two events in the sweep.
- Cate Carboni won the 1000 freestyle in 11:18.95.
- Emma Raser won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:11.14.
- Maddy Deeney won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:28.99
- Mary McCormick took the 500-yard freestyle crown in 5:16.20
- The Rams also placed first, third, and fourth in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
- 225 and 203 were the highest and second-highest points scored in a meet all season last year for Rhode Island.
Series History - Rhode Island vs. Siena
- Rhode Island and Siena have met four times previously, with the Rams emerging victoriously in all four meets.
- Last year, Rhode Island won 203-94 at Siena.
- Clara Samko won the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle. The Saints won the 200-yard Medley Relay.
- The series began on Oct. 15, 2022.
- Siena lost to Iona in its season opener on Oct. 3, 164-134
- Claire Donlon and freshman Caroline Suter each won two individual events, while the Saints' 400 freestyle relay also earned a victory.
Series History - Rhode Island vs. Stonehill
- Rhode Island and Stonehill will meet for the second time.
- Last season, Rhody got the win, 225-68 in the tri-meet at Siena.
- Lily Peterson won the 100-yard breaststroke for the Skyhawks in the meet.
- Stonehill placed third in its season opener at the Hannah Gibbons Invite, against LeMoyne and Binghamton, on Oct 3.
- Grace Idowu led the way for the Skyhawks, finishing second in the 50 backstroke (28.03) and 100 backstroke (1.00.45)
