RHODE ISLAND AT KENT STATE - SERIES NOTES
- Rhode Island continues its 2026 season with a four-game series at Kent State.
- This is the first meeting between the Rams and Golden Flashes.Â
- The Rams are on their third consecutive road trip to start the 2026 season.
- Rhode Island began its season with a four-game series at Jacksonville. Then continued its 2026 campaign with a three-game series at Alabama.Â
RHODE ISLAND AGAINST THE MID-AMERICAN CONFERENCEÂ
- Rhode Island is 102-116 against current programs from the Mid-American Conference.Â
- That record includes Rhode Island's 203 meetings with former Atlantic 10 rival Massachusetts who entered the MAC in 2026. The Rams are 95-108 against the Minutemen in program history.Â
- Outside of Rhode Island's history with UMass, the Rams are 7-8 against the rest of the MAC. The Rams have had meetings with Miami, Bowling Green, Western Michigan, Ohio, and Central Michigan.Â
- Rhode Island's most recent meeting with a MAC program was in 2020 when the Rams met Central Michigan in Tucson, Ariz.Â
- Rhode Island took both meetings against Central Michigan helping the Rams to an 8-5 start to the 2020 season before the spring sports calendar was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
RHODE ISLAND HIT WITH HISTORIC WEATHER
- The Rams were slated to play at in-state foe Bryant on Tuesday, March 24, however, the game was canceled after the Ocean State was blanketed in 3-feet of snow on Monday, Feb. 23.Â
- T.F. Green International Airport in Warwick, R.I., which is roughly 20 miles north of the University of Rhode Island's Kingston campus, measured 37.9 inches of snow.Â
- That is the most snowfall the airport has measured since the state saw 28.6 inches of snow during the Blizzard of '78.Â
- The University of Rhode Island canceled classes from Monday, Feb. 23 through Wednesday, Feb. 25 to clean up campus after the historic storm.Â
