BOSTON, Mass. - Rhode Island competed at Friday's River Hawk Invitational at the Track at New Balance host by UMass Lowell. The day was highlighted by a second place finish in the 4x400m relay and four individual top five finishes for the Rams.
Highlights
- The team of Abigail Colella, Keira Cleary, Joyce London, and Anna-Rose Merchant finished in second place in the 4x400m relay (3:54.53).
- Rhode Island had the fifth through eighth finishers in the 500m run.
- Merchant was the top finisher for the Rams and fifth overall in the field in the 500m after posting a time of 1:16.17. Cleary finished in sixth (1:16.54), Laurel Filiberto was seventh (1:17.69), and Sydney Haik was eighth (1:18.82).
- Keaney Bayha (9:59.87) was fifth and Jordan Hadfield (10:05.76) was sixth in the 3000m.
- Macy Daigle was best in the high jump after leaping 5' 5".
- Lily MacDonald ended the day second in the triple jump (37' 8.75").
- Colella impressed in the 400m dash with a time of 57.61; the seventh best in the field.
- Kayla Clark was seventh in the 60m hurdles (8.89).
- Madison Boucher threw the weight 49' 3.5", which was the 13th-best mark in the invite field.
- Rachel Federico recorded a mark of 40' 7.75" in the weight.
- Both Boucher (34' 4.75") and Federico (34' 2.25") competed in the open field of the shot put.
