RHODE ISLAND AT RICHMOND - SERIES NOTESÂ
- Rhode Island is 25-22-1 all time against Richmond.Â
- The first meeting between the Rams and Spiders was in 2003 and the most recent meetings is in last year's regular season series on Friday, April 4, 2025 and Sunday, April 6, 2025.

- Richmond won the first game of the series 10-5 before Rhode Island took the second game of the series 20-1 and the third game 12-9.Â
- Rhode Island's offensive explosion in game two of last year's series included two, seven-run innings for the Rams.Â
- Anthony DePino hit for the cycle in the game. DePino had a single, two doubles, a triple and a home run to help power the Rams' high-octane win. His performance was additionally special since his grandmother, celebrating her 90th birthday, was in attendance at Bill Beck Field.
- DePino was selected in the seventh round of the 2025 MLB Draft by the Chicago White Sox and is currently playing for the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers, the White Sox Single-A affiliate.Â
- Rhode Island rallied from a 7-0 deficit to defeat Richmond 12-9 during the series finale in 2025.
- The Rams outscored the Spiders 9-1 over the final four innings of the game, including a five-run eighth inning.Â
- Joe Sabbath, who tossed the final 2.0 innings of the Sunday win in 2025, was credited with the win.
- Sabbath, Rhode Island's closer in 2025, is now the Rams Friday starter in 2026.
TORO WALK-OFF HOMER CAPS IMPROBABLE RALLY FOR RAMS OVER GEORGE MASON
- Rhode Island pulled off one of the most improbable comebacks in program history as Nicholas Toro launched a three-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth for a 10-9 win over George Mason on Sunday, March 21.
- The improbable win gave Rhode Island its first Atlantic 10 series win of the season.
- Trailing 9-3 with two outs and nobody on base, things looked as bleak for the Rams. Ryan Henschel doubled to get things started. Scott Penney followed with a single to drive him in.Â
- Aidan Botti doubled to put two runners in scoring position before Reece Moroney lined a single off the pitcher's back for an infield hit that brought Penney in and put runners on the corners.
- Down 9-5, Jack Hopko drew a walk to load the bases. Ryan King followed with a walk of his own that forced Botti in to pull the Rams within three runs. Moroney came in on a wild pitch to make the score 9-7.Â
- Then, on a 3-2 pitch, Toro muscled a ball to deep left field for his first home run of the season, setting off a wild celebration for the Rams.
- Jake Cullen kept URI in the game, allowing just one unearned run over 4.1 innings of quality relief. He struck out four batters while giving up one hit and one walk.
- Tommy Turner provided 2.0 scoreless inning of work with one strikeout.
- Luc Lavigueur picked up his first win of the season with a scoreless inning of work.
- The game has been a microcosm of Rhode Island's season.
- Despite starting the year 0-12, Rhode Island has gone 7-4 over its last 11 games and 5-2 over its last seven games.
- Over the Rhode Island's last 11 games, the Rams are 3-3 against A-10 foes and right in the thick of the conference standings. Â
