KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island senior Sophie Herrman was named Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Co-Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon. She shared the honor with Richmond's Abby Lee.

Herrman was 2-0 in singles play and 1-0 in doubles to lead Rhode Island to victories over Saint Joseph's and Drexel. Against Saint Joseph's, Herrman notched a straight-set win over Elena Fleming at No. 3 singles, winning 6-2, 6-3. The next day, Herrman was the only Ram to secure two points in a 4-2 win at Drexel. She and Ava Grnja teamed up for a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles. URI took the doubles point 2-1, so the win had added importance. In singles play, Herrman beat Drexel's Sofiya Snitko 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3 singles to help swing the momentum in Rhode Island's favor.

This is the third weekly conference honor of Herrman's career. It is the second time she has been A-10 Player of the Week, with the first coming on Feb. 20, 2024. She also was the league's Rookie of the Week one time (Jan. 31, 2023).

Herrman and the Rams travel to Davidson, N.C. for two matches this week. Rhody will play at Davidson on Friday April 3 and then face Richmond on Saturday, April 4 in Davidson.
