KINGSTON, RI -
Jared Shibley has joined the Rhode Island Athletic Department as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. In his role, Shibley will work with URI's golf, swimming and diving, women's track and field and volleyball teams.
The West Warwick native comes to Kingston after serving as the head sports performance coach with the University of Maine football team from January of 2025 through March of 2026. While with the Black Bears' CAA Football program, Shibley designed and led all field and weight room training, created training reports for the football coaching staff and served as a nutrition coach for the football student-athletes.

Shibley spent time as an intern with the Rhode Island football team during the summer of 2022. He also gained experience through internships with the football programs at the University of Minnesota (January-May of 2022); the University of Connecticut (January-May of 2023); and the University of Georgia (May-August of 2023). He also served as a graduate assistant at Springfield College (2023-24) and with Central City Boxing and Barbell.
A Springfield College alum, Shibley earned his bachelor's degree in Applied Exercise Science in 2022 before completing his master's degree in Strength and Conditioning in 2024.
