KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island Football moved to No. 8 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 and No. 13 in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll, it was announced this week.

The Rams (1-1) received 994 points in the Stats Perform poll, finishing nine points behind No. 7 UC Davis, which received 1,003 points. Rhode Island entered the week ranked No. 6.

In the AFCA poll, Rhode Island earned 333 points while dropping five spots from No. 8 to No. 13.

Rhode Island was the only CAA Football program ranked in either national poll this week. Campbell, Elon, UAlbany, and Monmouth received votes in the Stats Perform poll, while Campbell, Elon, and Monmouth received votes in the AFCA poll.

The Rams return to action Saturday, Sept. 12, when they host Elon in their home opener at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, R.I. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
