Day One Results
Rhode Island had two first place finishes in their first outdoor meet in two years, as seniors Kristina MacLure and Julia Campezato each won their individual events at the UCF Black and Gold Invitational Friday.
Highlights from Competition
- Kristina MacLure won the 400 meter hurdles in 1:00.91. Trinity Smith finished fifth in 1:03.57.Â
- Julia Campezato won the javelin with a mark of 45.09 meters. Campezato finished almost five meters ahead of the second place finisher, who had a throw of 40.97 meters.
- Xiana Twombly was fifth in the long jump, with a final mark of 5.65 meters.
- Twombly placed 19th in the 200 meter dash, finishing in 25. 39 seconds. Greta Scott finished in 25.41 seconds (20th), while Bethany DeLoof finished in 25.61 seconds (25th), and Kelly MacDonnell in 25.94 seconds (30th). Ciara French crossed the finish line in 27.20 seconds, good for 41st place.
- Noelya Delacruz was eighth in the hammer, throwing 42.38 meters.
