Rhode Island continued its outdoor season with a trip to the capital city to compete in the Friar Invitational. The meet, hosted by Providence, was a non-scoring invitational.

Highlights from the Competition
- Kellen Waters broke the school record in the mile by nearly 10 seconds, replacing the 1977 record set by Gary Hague (4:13.40) with his time of 4:04.11. Collin Ochs finished eighth (4:05.11) and Tyler Rubush had a time of 4:10.27 for 18th, to climb the all-time ranks. Ben Fleischer's time of 4:16.84 was a new personal best (27th). Waters and Ochs are now the top two seeds in the Atlantic 10 with the conversion to 1500 meters.
- In its first event of the day, the Rams had big runs in the 800 meter from Ianique Imboque and Eli Baker. Imboque was 10th (1:54.41) while Baker was 13th (1:54.70). Nathan Coogan finished 26th (1:56.49).
- Eric Zulkofske finished 19th in the 5000 meter, crossing the finish line in 14:47.18.
