PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Rhode Island won the Brown Springtime Invitational Sunday. It was the last meet for the Rams before the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship begins on May 7. Rhody collected 225 team points ahead of host Brown (96), and Providence (90) to round out the top three.

Highlights from Competition

• John Santos won the high jump after clearing 1.95 meters.
• Abraham Tambah won the 100m with a time of 10.97 seconds. Liam Creeley placed second in 11.07 seconds.
• Jarrett Young placed first in the 200m in 21.92 seconds.
• Collin Ochs finished second in the 800m (1:50.74) and Tyler Rubush was fifth (1:51.58).
• Kai Schmidt-Bilowith was second in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.09 seconds.
• Isaiah Powers placed second in the pole vault (4.45m) and Neil Waldhausen was third (4.45m).
• In the long jump, Isaiah Webster finished third (6.43m) and Davon Tate finished fourth (6.34m).
• Orion Joyner won the triple jump with a mark of 14.23 meters.
• The Rams placed four of the top five finishers in the shot put, led by Derek Jacobs' first-place finish (16.51m). Chris Tavarone was second (15.35m), Stephen Cirella was fourth (15.23m), and Nick Morse was fifth (14.85m).
• In the discus, Rhody had the top six finishers. Jacobs claimed first with a throw of 49.94 meters, Cirella placed second (45.69m), Morse was third (45.16m), and Tavarone finished fourth (42.87m). Devin Donahue had a mark of 40.93 meters for sixth, and Ryan Tona threw for 38.06 meters to place sixth. 
• Sam Bond placed second in the hammer (59.71m) while Johnathan Buchanan (57.86m) and Jide Akinjisola (54.60m) finished third and fourth. 
• Lucas Frost won the javelin throwing for 63.63 meters. Seth Cordeiro placed second (57.13m) and Cirella placed third (53.28m).
