Day Two Results
How It Happened
For the second day in a row, Rhode Island scored big in the diving event to stay within striking distance of Vermont at the Harold Anderson Invitational.
The Catamounts lead the team standings with 591 points, while Rhode Island is second with 553 points. Holy Cross (455) rounds out the top three in the seven-team field.
Senior
Marta Baumann broke her own school record in the 1-meter dive, scoring 302.55. She finished well ahead of second-place Abby Bryant of Holy Cross, who had a score of 258.00.
Baumann scored 20 team points with her victory, Rhode Island's lone individual win on the day.
Brianna Tocco placed eighth to provide 11 points, and
Lily Hsu was ninth for nine team points. Rhody had 40 points in the event, compared to just three for Vermont, enabling URI to make up significant ground in the team scores.
Standouts from the Pool
- Jordynn Brown and Julia Renna placed third and fourth in the 100-yard backstroke, combining to score 31 team points. Wynter Sands added an 11th place finish for six more points.
- The 400-yard individual medley was a strong event for Rhody, as the Rams had three of the top eight finishers. Maddie Tetreault placed second with her time of 4:32.36.. Emma Lee was sixth (4:37.13) and Aimee Garcia took eighth (4:39.36). The trio combined for 41 team points.
- Ella Hacker had a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly to give URI 14 points. Also scoring in the event were Jenna Salem (7th, 12 points) and Abby Zadorozny (9th, 9 points).
- Mia Bonvissuto (8th place, 11 points), Rylee Kelly (10th place, 7 points) and Lyndsay Warner (11th place, 6 points) all scored in the 200-yard freestyle for the Rams.
- The Rams scored 36 points in the 100-yard breaststroke. Emily Makin (14 points) and Hannah Benavides (13 points) placed fifth and sixth, respectively. Mackenzie Thomas added nine points with a ninth-place finish.
- Rhode Island took fourth and fifth in the 200-yard medley relay to score 58 teams points in the event. Julia Renna, Hannah Benavides, Ella Hacker and Camryn Kreuscher teamed up to place fourth and score 30 points. Wynter Sands, Mackenzie Thomas, Jenna Salem and Quinn Frost took fifth for 28 points.
- In the final event of the night, Lyndsay Warner, Rylee Kelly, Camryn Kreuscher and Mia Bonvissuto teamed for a third-place finish in the 800-yard freestlye relay. Their effort produced 32 team points. The team of Abby Zadorozny, Maddie Tetreault, Ella Hacker and Aimee Garcie placed sixth for 26 points.

What's Next
The final day of the Harold Anderson Invitational begins Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. in the Tootell Aquatic Center. Teams will compete in the 200 Backstroke, 100 Freestyle, 200 Breaststroke, 200 Butterfly, 1650 Freestyle and the 400 Freestyle Relay.
