Day 1 Results
HAMPTON, Va. – Rhode Island placed eighth in the 800-yard freestyle on the opening day of the 2024 Atlantic 10 Women's Swimming and Diving Championship.
Rhody's team of
Mia Bonvissuto,
Megan Huntley,
Avery Potyrala and
Rylee Kelly finished in a time of 7:28.09, more than three seconds ahead of Saint Louis, which placed ninth in the event. George Washington overpowered the field with its time of 7:10.63.
With the eighth-place finish, URI scored 22 team points in the event. The result helped Rhody finished the first day of the championship in 10th place. The 800 freestyle relay and the 200 medley relay were the only two events women's events on opening day.
