How It Happened
Rhode Island won three of the final four events of the meet as it pulled away from Central Connecticut State 163-137 on Senior Day Saturday afternoon. Overall, the Rams (4-6) won nine out of the 15 events.
Freshman
Molly Beckwith - who won two individual events and was part of two winning relay teams - got the late run started with a victory in the 100-yard butterfly. She dominated the race with a time of 57.74 seconds, making her the lone swimmer in the race to finish in less than one minute.
Senior
Olivia Winslow made it two wins in a row when she took the 3-meter diving event. Her score of 306.23 was more than 10 points ahead of the field. Earlier in the meet, Rhody took the top two spots in the 1-meter dive, as freshman
Emily Whiteneck scored 280.05 to edge Winslow (276.45).
Central Connecticut State got a win in the 200-yard individual medley when Addison Kenney finished in 2:09.72. However, URI took the next two spots as junior
Julianna Tyler (2:11.66) and senior
Sarah Koenig (2:14.53) finished strong.

Standouts from the Pool
- Before the meet, Rhode Island honored six women competing in the Tootell Aquatic Center for the final time. Lily Hsu, Rylee Kelly, Sarah Koenig, Avery Potyrala, Olivia Winslow and Abby Zadorozny were recognized in the Senior Day ceremony.
- Freshman Molly Beckwith won both the 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard freestyle races.
- Additionally, she teamed with Julia Havice, Maddy Deeney and Emma Raser to win the 200-yard medley relay to start the meet.
- Beckwith's fourth win of the day was the 400-yard freestyle relay along with Avery Potyrala, Rylee Kelly and Emma Raser.
- Freshman Maddy Deeney picked up an individual win to go with the 200-yard medley relay victory. She won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:07.54.
- It was her second individual win of the season.
- Senior Rylee Kelly won the 200-yard freestyle race with a time of 54.50 and added a third-place finish 100-yard freestyle.
- Junior Julianna Tyler was victorious in the 200-yard butterfly with her time of 2:07.49. She also provided a second-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley.
- Sophomore Emma Raser was part of the winning teams in both the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay races. She added a second place in the 100-yard backstroke and a third place in the 200-yard backstroke for a solid day.
