Bob White was a four-year standout and All-American offensive lineman during the most successful era in modern URI football history. White played center, guard and left tackle for the Rams from 1982-85, during which the team won 33 games and advanced to two NCAA I-AA Playoffs. A two-year team captain, he was an All-New England and All-Yankee Conference first team selection as a junior and senior. During his final season in Keaney Blue in 1985, he was named a First Team All-American by the Associated Press. Following his playing career at Rhode Island, White was a seventh round selection by the New York Jets of the National Football League. White played five seasons in the NFL with the Jets, Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots.
