DOUGLAS D. CLARK '87 is considered one of the finest members of the sailing team in Rhode Island annals, earning Honorable Mention All-America honors from the Intercollegiate Yacht Racing Association in 1985. The following year he was named first-team All-America. Clark later served as sailing coach at the U.S. Naval Academy for eight years before moving on to Kings Point. While at the Naval Academy, he coached the Midshipmen to four dinghy national championships, three team race national crowns, two single-handed titles, two sloop national championships and one women's national championship. At Kings Point, his team won the dinghy national championship in his first year. He coached more than 52 All-Americas. Clark also worked as a sail consultant.
