MARK W. STRAWDERMAN '82 was a three-time All-America pole vaulter at URI. His achievements include: second in the nation as a senior; four-time ECAC champion in both indoor and outdoor competition; five-time New England titlist; two-time winner of the Penn Relays and record holder in the event; two-time qualifier for the U.S. Olympic Trials; all-time Eastern vault record holder until 1993; and 1982 recipient of the Albert LeBoeuf Award as the most outstanding senior male athlete at URI.
